What if I want to buy a vacation home in the same county that I live in --but also keep my apartment. Do the same tax and financial advantages apply to a home that I will only visit on weekends and holidays?

Veronica,

Checking your own credit store through myfico.com or any other personal credit monitoring company DOES not lower your credit score. That is a common misconception. What lowers your credit score is when companies pull your credit.

Another FYI..When you monitor and track your own credit score you can see who pulled your credit. Unless given permission by you, you can dispute credit pulls with all reporting companies.

Well, unless those scores are affected by owing the goverment money such as student loans. Other than that- VA Loans can be very forgiving for people who use cash and not credit.

I read with great interest some of the pieces on your site and wanted to introduce you to VantageScore Solutions, LLC. VantageScore Solutions is an independently managed company that holds the license to VantageScore—a new generic consumer credit scoring model introduced in March 2006. VantageScore was developed by America’s three major credit reporting companies (CRCs) –Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, based on market demand.

. Here are a few additional thumbnail facts about VantageScore that you might find of interest.

--VantageScore is seeking to build relationships with a lot of market influencers like Government Service Enterprises (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and consumer advocacy groups

--For a study conducted by Experian, we were able to reclassify about 21 percent of borrowers out of the subprime category

--Because the algorithms for VantageScore are based on more recent economic data, the score accurately reflects recent economic trends and shifts in consumer credit behavior.

Thank you for your consideration.

This is true in most cases. Va loans however don't require a set credit score and the rate is the same for all borrowers that qualify regardless of their scores.
